I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all your support-i'm thrilled to bits with how the Library is growing!

I also just want to keep you updated on all thats going to be happening over the next few weeks.

We shall be open as usual on the 8th and 15th of May,but then i shall be shutting for at least 3 weeks-hopefully not more,whilst mt 8year old daughter has an operation and has a bit of time to recover.

During this time i will be available via technology....so any problems or queries-please dont hesitate to contact me-either on the Facebook page or by email, i will get to ou as soon as i can.

We are also offering Postal loans now....so if for some reason you cant manage to get to the Library-we can arrange to post any Slings/accessories out to you.

Raffle for Boba 3G to be held 21st Feb 2012

We are holding a Raffle to raise funds for our Library(if enough money is raised) to be drawn on 21st Feb 2012 ♥

Our main prize will be a brand new Boba 3G kindly donated by our lovely friends at Slumber roo, there will also be runner up prizes ♥

CHRISTMAS 2011

Just to let you all know that we shall be open on Tuesday's until the 20th December, which will be our last session this year! :-0.

We shall be having a special offer during the Christmas break, so come along to the library on Tuesday to find out what offer we have for you.

International Babywearing Week 2011

To celebrate this weeks International Babywearing Week,we had a photographer come and take some lovely candid photos of some of our Library members enjoying the wonders of babywearing.

 
We had a lovely afternoon,we were really happy with the turnout as the weather was wet and miserable.The adults had fun getting to know one another and indulging in the lovely cakes,the babies were getting really snuggly in their slings and the pre schoolers were having a great time playing together-i can safely say that the afternoon was a great success!

 
We had a couple more members sign up and loaned out a few more slings...we even got a Daddy say that hes hoping to come on a regular basis...and hes even considering trying the Ergo!


Over the next week or two we are adding to our Sling library stash,and are expecting a couple of Mei Tais,a Scootababy,a Dreampod and some more ring slings....i get soooo excited when they arrive in the post!

On Facebook we are now doing a daily Babywearing tip/fact/beneft-so like our pleae 'like' our page and look out for that.

 
We will also be having some visitors to the Sling Library on the way up to Christmas-the first one being Rachel, a lady that sells Usborne books-lok out for details.

WE ARE NOW OPEN!!!!

We had our grand opening on Tuesday 4th October-and it was FANTASTIC!!!!

We had a great turnout,a couple of seasoned babywearers,some people wanting to give it a go,and a few expectant mums who are planning on coming back with their newborns,and few lovely friends who've supported us from day one-we couldn't believe how busy it was!

Thankyou to Golden Hippo Cakes for donating a beautiful and very tasty chocolate celebration cake!

I demonstrated how to use several of the slings including ring slings,pouches,stretchy wraps and a woven wrap,an also talked about babywearing safety.

We had a number of people sign up,and even loaned out several slings-infact ALL our ring slings are out on loan at the moment.

I'd like to say a HUGE THANKYOU to all the companies that have gifted us slings or have given us generous discounts-without them we would still be a long way from opening,so thankyou to Pouchlings,Victoria the Slinglady,Ergo,Slumber roo and Babybjorn. (see links for details)

So next on the Chesterfield Sling Library agenda is International Babywearing Week 2011,which starts next week. To celebrate we're planning a photoshoot,so please come down and join us!

Chesterfield Sling Library-Grand opening!

Hello Everyone, and welcome to Chesterfield Sling Library News section.

As we are not open yet the only news we have is our Grand opening!

We are all set for launching on Tuesday 4th October at 1.30pm at our usual residence of  Holmebrook Valley Family Centre, Wardgate Way, Holme Hall, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. S40 4SL.

We will be operating every Tuesday Term time from 1.30pm-3.00pm.

At the same time as the Sling Library we also indulge in Coffee & Cake...speaking of cake, Golden Hippo Cakes are making us a special celebration cake to celebrate the launch.
